Story
Who are we?
We are a group of six enthusiastic students at The University of Warwick (Marshall, Rishav, Trisha, Aryamoy, Disha, and Aidana), who will be travelling to Alexandra, South Africa for 6 weeks over the summer to support the teaching of Maths and English in various local schools!
We will also be engaging with various aspects of school life- like helping with extracurriculars! We just want to ensure we make the most of our six weeks, and aid in any way we can!
This is part of the Warwick in Africa (WiA) programme, which supports the education of Maths and English in 28 of the poorest schools in Ghana, South Africa, and Tanzania. Being a strongly established programme, WiA ensures the work it undertakes is effective in enhancing learning and teaching experiences, and that it can be sustained. Since the programme's inception in 2006, over 210,000 learners and 1,400 teachers in WiA schools have benefitted from the programme, and the number is only increasing!

We need your help!
Our team has to raise £5,000 to ensure we can provide quality teaching in classrooms with up to 65 learners, and provide these young people with a learning experience that can help towards a positive future!
£10 is the approximate cost to teach a child for a month. That's equivalent to 3 cups of barista made coffee, a meal out or one pack of cigarettes. Next time, instead of making one of these purchases, think about lending a helping hand instead.
Any amount is appreciated! Any donation, no matter big or small, will help make a huge difference for thousands of children!
If help raise awareness for our cause and share this post!
