Story

When life throws its hardest challenges at us, organisations like Macmillan Cancer Support become a lifeline. Team Booze, a small but determined group of runners, is taking on the Great North Run to raise vital funds for this incredible charity that provides essential support to cancer patients and their families.

Our Story

The return of Team Booze was inspired by the powerful journey of Emma, who faced a stage 3 bowel cancer diagnosis. Through grueling chemotherapy, radiotherapy, multiple surgeries, and the life-changing reality of living with a stoma, Emma experienced firsthand how crucial proper support is during cancer treatment. Throughout this challenging time, Macmillan was there providing guidance, resources, and compassionate care.

Why Macmillan?

Macmillan Cancer Support doesn't just help with medical needs—they offer practical, emotional, and financial support when it's needed most. From helping navigate the complex healthcare system to providing counseling services for families struggling with the emotional impact of cancer, Macmillan creates a support network that makes an immeasurable difference.

For Emma and countless others, Macmillan has been a "guiding light" during the darkest times. Their resources help transform overwhelming cancer journeys into manageable steps forward.

Join Our Cause

By supporting Team Booze, you're helping ensure that no one faces cancer alone. Every donation, no matter the size, contributes to:

• Specialist cancer nurses providing expert care

• Support groups for patients and their families

• Financial advice for those facing the economic burden of cancer

• Resources that help patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options

Help us cross the finish line with pride, knowing we've made a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their loved ones. Together, we can ensure Macmillan continues to be there for everyone who needs them.

Then, we'll go to the pub and get clattered!
