Raising money for St David's Hospice Care (Gwent and S. Powys)

St. David's Hospice Care provides free community-based hospice care to people with cancer or any other life threatening illness living in Gwent and Mid/South Powys. Your donations help us to provide the services that give patients a real choice about where they spend their final days.

Story

A few months ago we lost our friend and teammate, Elliot 'Elmo' Pottinger, following a long illness borne with great courage and dignity.

Even from a young age Elliot was instrumental in so much at the hockey club. As a Junior he was a key player right up from Badgers to U18 sides, showing his skills and commitment playing both outfield and in goal. Elmo soon moved up to the senior sides where he established himself as a skillful defender and eventually the Men's 2nd Team Captain, as well as assisting with our Junior coaching programme. Within these roles Elmo demonstrated not only his passion for the game, but also his friendly, caring and supportive nature as he bonded with teammates and helped develop the next set of junior players.

In his role as Sponsorship Secretary, Elmo had often organised and lead teams of members on the annual Bridgnorth Walk, so it seems only fitting that this year we take on the challenge in his memory.
