Story
Hello we are Team Corkilly and this is our story.
Cancer research is a charity close to the hearts of our family and has been for a number of years. Cancer is a disease that has impacted the lives of family and friends surrounding the Skillicorns and Corkills. Namely our beloved Sylvia Skillicorn or ‘Fancy Nancy’ as she was referred to by her four grandchildren. Sylvia was diagnosed with Melanoma in 2003 and battled strongly for 19 years until it was time for her to leave us and rest in December 2022. A style icon, the life of the party, a loving wife, caring mother and generous nan, Sylvia was simply the best. We hope we can honour her in our efforts to raise money for cancer research through our participation in this years ‘Relay for Life’.
Sylvia’s Granddaughter Evie Skillicorn was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in early 2025 at 19 years old. After four hard months of battling chemotherapy, Evie has made a full recovery and is now cancer free. Thanks to the support of her amazing family and friends, Evie can now continue her life where she left off, with hopes of raising awareness about Lymphoma and Cancer in young people. Evie will be walking with us in this years ‘Relay for Life’ hoping to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Cancer Research.
Team Corkilly would appreciate any participation toward raising money for Cancer Research. Please share our fundraising page or any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Let’s get walking!
Thank you
