Story
James' Team are raising awareness and funds for PAPYRUS prevention of young suicide because of the vital work they do in supporting and equipping young people and their communities to stay safe.
After tragically and very suddenly losing our son, James, at the end of March 2021, we knew that we needed to support the change in the way society views mental health and break the many years of stigma that surrounds suicide.
PAPYRUS have a vision of a society that speaks openly about suicide that has the resources to help those with suicidal thoughts. PAPYRUS engage communities and volunteers in suicide prevention projects and deliver training programmes to individuals and groups.
PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide and self harm, and anyone who is worried about a young person, through their helpline:
HOPELINEUK Call: 0800 068 4141 Text: 07860 039 967
Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK
£65 can keep HOPELINEUK running for over one hour.
£165 covers the cost of training someone in ASIST, which is a two day course that prepares caregivers to provide suicide first aid interventions.
Our message to you is:
Stay Safe and Talk to Someone.
Please join us to smash the stigma and support PAPYRUS in their vital life-saving work with young people. Your donations really are life-saving.
Thank you.
