Story
Some of you are already aware, but for those who aren’t, I am going to Austria in July to take part in my first (possibly last?!) Ironman event.
If you are unsure of what this is, here is a quick break down. It’s a triathlon consisting of a 2.2mile/3.8km swim, 112mile/180km cycle followed by running a marathon. All of this back to back with no breaks!!
Whilst personal motivation has got me to 10 weeks away, I am hoping that by raising a little money for charity it will motivate me all the way to the finish line in under 14 hours!
Sooooo, I have set up a fund raising page to raise money for the RNLI and South Heighton bonfire society.
Why??
Well, other than the fact that living in a sea fairing town making it an obicous choice. I have spent a lot of time practicing swimming in the open water I realised that the RNLI would be an essential service to me if I ever got into trouble out there. Making it that slight bit more personal.
Then there’s the bonfire society. Over the last couple of years I have been part of South Heighton and seen many other society’s cease to exist. I would like to make sure this doesn’t happen to us and therefore make it possible for everyone else to come and enjoy the fireworks that are put on for the whole community.
