Story
We are helping to raise money for Tearfund's life saving work around the world, helping people to lift themselves out of poverty.
Tearfund reach out to help the most vulnerable, not confining their work to one area of poverty but instead comprehensively tackling systems of injustice and defending the cause of those trapped in destitution.
During the coronavirus pandemic Tearfund have reached out to those who have been hit hardest by Covid-19, including the elderly and women and children who are at risk of violence and abuse when confined to their homes.
The full impact of coronavirus on communities in poverty is still unknown.
As a sub-team of the Tearfund emerging influencers programme, we are raising money and awareness particularly around the issue of water poverty. Nearly one billion people do not have access to clean, safe water - that's the equivalent of 1 in 8 people on the planet. Providing access to water gives people back their time; not to mention the fundamental healthcare and education which hugely depend on clean water supply.
As a group, we will be dedicating an hour of our time each day to raise awareness and money to tackle the issue of water-shortage. The hour many children in the developing world spend walking to their nearest water supply, we will fill with a variety of fundraising activities including running, cycling, art, and many other dedications. We would love to receive your donations toward the amazing work Tearfund do, and encourage you to check out their website to find out more.
