Story
In Memory of Morgan Dickinson-Lawson 🩵
I’m doing it again.
Leicester 10K and half marathon, this time running alongside my amazing running team, Team Morgan, and once again every single step will be for my beautiful boy, Morgan.
Morgan was only 18 when I lost him. There are no words that can truly describe what it is like to lose your child, or the emptiness that they leave behind. Life carries on around you, but a part of you remains forever in that moment when everything changed.
And yet, somehow, you keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Running has become part of that for me.
There are days when it feels impossible. Days when I don’t want to get out there, when the distance seems too far and my legs feel heavy before I’ve even started. But then I think of Morgan. I think of his smile, his laugh, his cheekiness, the life he should still be living, and I keep going.
Once again, I’ll be running alongside Team Morgan — the amazing people who supported me, encouraged me, and helped me find little pieces of strength when I haven’t always felt like I had any.
I’m once again raising money for The Laura Centre, who have been there for me through the darkest days of my grief. Their support has been something I have been incredibly grateful for, and I want to help them continue to be there for other families who suddenly find themselves having to navigate the unimaginable loss of a child.
So, whether you donate, share this page, come and cheer us on, or simply think of Morgan on the day, thank you.
Every pound raised is in his memory.
Every mile is for him.
Every step is because I love him.
For Morgan.
Always. 🩵
Forever 18. Forever my son. Forever in my heart.
