The D-Day 44 Challenge is a unique 44 mile run or 22 mile walk that commemorates the 1944 Allied invasion of occupied France on the anniversary of D-Day, 6 June 2018.

Story

Last April we lost our beloved Uncle Roger to covid. It was such a shock and has left a massive hole in our family. Roger had been blind since the early 90s and was supported throughout the rest of his life by Blind Veterans (formerly St Dunstans). The charity gave him hope, happiness and a purpose in his darkest times. He often spent weeks at a time at their Brighton and Llandudno centres which gave him comfort and company. The charity works tirelessly to support people with vision loss and their families. For over 20 years they supported Roger and more recently our family as we came to terms with losing him.

As a family, we will be taking part in the Lands End to John O'Groats virtual walk in Roger's memory to raise awareness of their amazing work and to give back some of the support they gave to Roger throughout his life.
