Story
In May 2026, Woody and I will be lacing up our boots to walk 26 miles around the iconic Stonehenge as part of the Alzheimer's Society's TREK26. We're doing this in memory of my mum Ann, who was diagnosed with early onset Alzhemier's at just 50 years old and heartbreakingly passed away at the young age of 60 in 2010.
Alzheimers is a cruel disease. It doesn't just steal memories, it changes relationship, reshapes families, and takes away the person you love piece by piece. Watching my mum go through this was devastating, and the impact on our family was profound. No one should have to face dementia alone.
Woody's family has also felt the pain of dementia through a close family friend, so this cause is deeply personal to both of us.
Currently It is estimated that 982,000 people in the UK are living with dementia, but more than a third of people do not have a diagnosis. This number is expected to rise to 1.4million by 2040.
We're walking not just for our loved ones, but for every family who has been touched by dementia. We'd be so greatful for your support, whether it's a donation, a share, or a kind word. Every bit helps the Alzheimer's Society continue their incredible work.
Thank you for helping us make a difference.
With love
