Story
I have been walking the South West Coast Path and plan to complete it in May 2021. So far I have walked 595 of the 630 miles in 42 days. They say it is the equivalent of climbing Everest 4 times in Ascent and Descent. My plan is to complete it all in 45 Walking Days. I hope to raise money for the following three charities.
Swansea Children's Therapy Centre supports the children and families who attend Hafan Y Môr through provision of therapeutic equipment and events. The centre supports children with a range of conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Rheumatology, Muscular Dystrophy and Downs Syndrome.
My daughter's son Boaz has Cerebral Palsy and has been helped at the Therapy Centre since he was 8 months old. He is now 5 years old and has just started walking.
Cots for Tots is the special care baby charity raising money to save and transform lives at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital Bristol, and Cots for Tots House, free 'home from home' accommodation for families of babies from Bristol, the South West, South Wales and beyond.
My grandson Benjamin was born at 24 weeks. He weighed in at 650 grams and in his first week had to go to Bristol for an operation. Cots and Tots provided accommodation and support for my Son and his wife during this stressful time. Benjamin is now a lively 4 year old.
During difficult times, knowing who to turn to for support can be a challenge. This is where the Farming Community Network can help by being the first port of call for pastoral and practical support of all those in need in the farming community, with a particular focus on farmers and farming families.
I have worked with FCN for the last fourteen years seeking to 'walk with' those in need of support.
