Thank you for taking the time to visit my team page. I have created this teams page to link my sponser together because I am trying to raise money for two different charities, they each have to have a seperate JustGiving page.

After lockdown no.2, I am getting at least 14 inches cut off my hair because 1. It will be put to good use for someone else to benefit from 2. It really needs a good chop!

In September I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer after a visit to the GP that ended with bloods, ultrasounds and a referal to a thyroid specialist. I only went to the GP because I was feeling tired and struggling to loose weight so after a discussion with a family member about underactive thyroid(runs in the family) and my ‘fat neck’ i decided to go and get my levels checked. Like a lot of cancers there were no obvious signs and if the GP hadn’t referred me for that biopsy I still wouldn’f of been aware to this day. With thyroid cancer, symptoms progess very slowly and it sometimes doesn’t even effect your thryoid hormone levels as all my bloods came back normal but the GP saw the swollen neck and thought more tests were needed. With this is in mind I want to raise money for the butterfly thyroid cancer trust because they were the first national support for patients with any type of thyoid problem and I think more awareness is needed for this disease.

The little princess trust will recieve 14+ inches of my hair to create a free, real hair wig for a child or young adult suffering from hair loss due cancer. They also provide lots of research into childhood cancers. Each wig costs roughly £550 to make so any money I raise can hopefully go towards this cost.
