Story
It’s now been nearly 13 years since the London Olympics but the four of us have decided to come out of retirement in order to compete in one last event. The London to Brighton bike ride in aid of British Heart Foundation and Wellchild on the 18th of June. As you can tell and see, we all live extremely healthy lifestyles and none of us needed any convincing as you’d expect to undertake this challenge for two extremely important charities.
Heart and circulatory diseases cause a quarter of all deaths in the UK, totally around 160,000 deaths. Along with this around 1.4 million people alive in the UK today have survived a heart attack. Since the BHF was established, the annual number of deaths from heart and circulatory diseases in the UK has fallen by around half.
Wellchild is the national UK children’s charity making it possible for children and young people with exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital, wherever possible. The four of us understand that tough economic climate we are in, but would all be truly grateful if you could give whatever you could afford in order to help reach our joint target for two fantastic charities. If you can’t donate them some helpful words of encouragement (or abuse) wouldn’t go a miss. Thank you.
