Story

The Houston Texans YMCA is an amazing place. The staff, volunteers, and members are at the heartbeat of our Y. We are a family. At the Houston Texans YMCA we are here to serve the community. We have programs for families, children, youmg adults and seniors. With your support, we can serve more and do more.
The Houston Texans YMCA, located in the Palm Center at 5202 Griggs Rd. and Martin Luther King Blvd., continues to serve as a crown jewel for Houston’s historic Third Ward, Sunny Side, and South Park communities. The Houston Texans YMCA along with other YMCA’s in the city offer a variety of programs for the entire family; Youth Sports, Y Teen L.I.F.E., Active Older Adult, Group Exercise Classes, Child Watch, and Personal Training.
Our Y serves a community of about a quarter-of-a-million people, with roughly a third of those being under the age of 18, with a household annual income of less than $29,000. The Houston Texans YMCA has approximately 1,600 members and serves over 700 families. Since the groundbreaking in 2010, the Houston Texans YMCA has sought to embrace its rich history, while also striving to fulfill the 175-year mission of the YMCA, which is “to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.”
