Story
We are raising money for Ty-Celyn Sunday Club in Memory of our colleague Roger Grew who sadly passed away recently. Roger was heavily involved in the charity and gave a lot of his time to supporting and fundraising.
Ty-Celyn Sunday Club is a youth provision for young people with a wide variety of learning disabilities. They provide an opportunity for teenagers and young adults with learning disabilities to socialise with their peers in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere. On average they have between 40 and 50 members attend each week meaning they are one of the busiest youth groups in Cardiff. It is often quite noisy with a large range of activities in progress however their members get on well with each other (as much as teenagers ever do!). The members have a wide range of additional needs and we aim to accommodate them within the club. A proportion of their members are on the Autistic Spectrum but they also have members with global developmental delay, Down’s Syndrome, Fragile X and other syndromes as well as social/communication difficulties. The majority of the members have attended Special Educational schools or units however this is not a requirement for attendance at Sunday Circle.
On Friday 25th September we will be taking part in different activities to raise money for this wonderful cause. The activities will be as follows:-
Scavenger Breakfast Hunt
Music Quiz
Taking part in a Memory walk 5k at 5pm
