Raising money for Cure Leukaemia

With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

For the 6th year running, on Sunday 5th May, colleagues from the combined authority will join thousands to take on the Great Birmingham Run 10K/Half Marathon. Team WMCA will come together to run this atmospheric course through the heart of Birmingham's historic city centre whilst raising funds for Cure Leukemia.

Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK.

Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies.

Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.

Let's help Team WMCA hit the ground running by raising money for a great cause!
