Story
The Challenge
This February, we’re taking on an epic challenge: walking the entire South Hams Way - 100 miles in just four days. From rugged coast paths to the wilds of Dartmoor, we’ll cover up to 28 miles a day. Five Toad Hall teammates - Alex, Hannah, Oli, Sarah and Steph - are tackling the full distance, with other colleagues joining for sections along the way. We’ll finish in Salcombe on 26 February, marking one year since we lost our amazing friend and colleague, Sally Moore.
Why we're doing it
Sally was so much more than a colleague. She was resilient, caring, wise, hilarious and full of life. She was a fantastic mum to Georgia and Henry, mother-in-law to Steve, treasured 'Mimi' to Georgia and Steve’s children, and a hugely loved daughter, sister and friend.
Sally sadly lost her fight to cancer in February 2025. Just a week before, she was holding court in the office, having us all in stitches, and demonstrating her exceptional bravery and positivity. A year on, we want to honour her memory in a way that reflects her incredible spirit. Covering 100 miles across our home patch feels like the right way to do that - step by step, mile by mile, hopefully with the same energy she gave to all of us!
We’re raising money for two charities close to Sally’s heart:
Cancer Research UK – funding life-saving research to beat cancer.
Devon Mind – supporting mental health and well being across our county.
How You Can Help
Please donate whatever you can. Every pound makes a difference to these amazing charities. If you’re eligible, tick Gift Aid to boost your donation at no extra cost. And if you can’t donate today, a share of this page or a message of encouragement means the world to us. We’ll post updates as we train and daily stories during the challenge- the highs, the hills, the muddy boots, and the moments that remind us why we’re doing this. #StompforSal
