Story
In April 2026, an inspiring challenge will take place in support of DEBRA – the skin blistering charity – and Hugo Duggins-Jones. The JFA annual walk is back, for its third year and it's bigger than ever...
Over two days, on Friday 10 April and Saturday 11 April 2026, participants will complete a demanding 50-mile sponsored walk, travelling from Wembley Stadium to the Drewitt-Barlow Stadium. This journey represents determination, community spirit, and a shared commitment to raising vital funds for those living with painful genetic skin blistering conditions.
DEBRA provides essential care, support, and research funding for individuals and families affected by skin blistering conditions that can make everyday life extremely difficult. Funds raised through this challenge will help DEBRA continue its life-changing work, while also showing support for Hugo Duggins-Jones.
Hugo is a cheeky little 4-year-old and the son of JFA Committee member, Charlie who was sadly diagnosed with Hereditary Ataxia with childhood onset, related to the ITPR1 gene at 17 months old. His neurologist has advised us that they cannot predict how this condition will affect him in the future, but we have had confirmation through further testing to say that his condition is degenerative. Unfortunately, there is no cure, but we have been encouraged to focus on therapies for Hugo, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
Want to Take Part in the Walk?
We welcome anyone who would like to be involved in the sponsored walk. If you are interested in taking part or would like more information, please email chair@thejammersfa.co.uk and vicechair@thejammersfa.co.uk.
