Raising money for Blood Cancer UK

Glasgow Kiltwalk 2024 · 28 April 2024 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

On Sunday 28th April, 6 friends (Allison Hussain, Charlotte Muir, Nikki Irvine, Sharon Fletcher, Lynne McGeoch and Wendy Hunter) will be taking on the Glasgow Kiltwalk Mighty Stride (23 miles) to raise funds for Blood Cancer UK. Our dear friend Susan devastingly lost her beloved husband Alan (49) to Cancer on 16th August 2023, after a bravely fought 6 year battle. Alan was an amazing individual whose determination and positivity throughout his treatment helped Susan and their children Craig & Emma (hence the team name ACES - Alan, Craig, Emma and Susan) through the darkest of times. Blood Cancer UK fund research and provide support to improve blood cancer patients' lives. Throughout his treatment, Alan was involved in many pioneering drug trials and therefore we wanted to raise funds in his memory so Blood Cancer UK can continue their research, save many more lives, and ultimately find a cure. Funds raised will be added to Alan's Precious Life Fund. We really appreciate your support to raise funds for this amazing organisation. Many thanks x
