We are running the London Marathon 2026 to raise money for Spinal Research, in memory of our grandmother who sadly passed away at the beginning of last year.

This will be our first marathon, and we are taking on this challenge together in her honour.

Grandi was a remarkable woman and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. At the age of 34 she suffered a life-changing riding accident that left her paralysed from the waist down, including bowel and bladder paralysis. Thanks to the unwavering support of friends, family, and medical professionals, she was able to live a rich, fulfilling life.

We wish to raise awareness for others who suffer life changing spinal cord injuries and support ongoing research into treatment and recovery.

There are an estimated 105,000 people in the UK with a spinal cord injury. Living with an SCI often means a lifetime of health and care costs, as well as the threat of secondary healthcare complications.

Spinal Research is the UK's leading medical charity focused on the repair and restoration of the spinal cord, and exist to beat paralysis.
