Story

SUPPORT OUR FAMILY'S 13-MILE WALK FOR ALZHEIMERS.

Meet the walkers: Megan, Fiona, Sarah, Sue, Jude, and Michelle – cousins with a mission! We’re coming together to walk 13 miles for THREE amazing people who mean the world to us: Pam, Peter and Bobby.

Pam, Megan’s mum and Sarah, Fiona, and Sue’s auntie, has always been the heart of our family gatherings. For over 40 years, she’s hosted the family – sometimes more than 20 of us – for Christmas dinners that are legendary. A bookworm with an impeccable sense of style and a sharp sense of humour, she’s always enjoyed her aerobics classes and a good shopping trip.

Peter, Jude’s dad, Michelle’s father-in-law, and Fiona, Sarah, and Sue’s uncle, has always been our family’s DIY expert, able to tackle any job with perfectionist flair. His career with ICL maintaining computers took him across the UK and Europe in the ‘50s and ‘60s – even to CERN – but he still found time for his garden. He loves dancing, it was on the dance floor that he met his wife. In later years, he’s loved growing vegetables, fruit, and flowers, even making wine from his own crops.

And in memory of Bobby, Grandpa to Sue, he was an avid football fan of Glasgow Rangers and a talented referee. His career was with Collins book makers and along with golf, he is a champion flat green bowling player! Never one to hold an argument and always had a smile on his face.

We'd like to do our bit to raise some funds to fight Alzheimer’s.
