As many of you know, I faced a profound loss when my husband, the father of my children, passed away in June after a brave battle with cancer. In those final days, we chose to stay at home, surrounded by love and memories. The Overgate Hospice team visited us daily, providing invaluable support and guidance not only to him but also to me and our children. Their compassion has continued to uplift me even after his passing.

For many years, I have participated in this walk to honor my grandparents. However, this year holds a special significance as I walk in memory of the man I loved deeply. On September 13th, 2025, I will join friends who have stood by me through thick and thin for a heartfelt 10-mile journey. Together, we will light up Halifax in remembrance of him.
