Raising money for SportInspired

We improve the physical & mental wellbeing of children & young people from the UK's poorest communities through sport & physical activity. Our sports-based development programmes teach essential life skills, empowering them to create lasting positive change & paving the way for a brighter future.

Story

Mike Raffles (ICU Consultant), Mark Wilson (Critical Care Nurse) and Hattie Jones (ICU Physio), members of the Intensive care team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, are taking part in the Thames 200 challenge to raise money for the SportInspired charity, that raises important funds to enhance the physical and mental health of deprived children in the UK through sport.

The Thames200 is a team triathlon designed for a range of sporting abilities, including both recreational and committed athletes alike. Over 12 hours teams will complete a 200km course consisting of swimming, running and cycling. The event is being held on Saturday 24th June 2023, 8am - 8pm.

Each team must complete 15 Legs of swim, run & bike, including at least 1 Leg of each discipline & at least 200km overall. Teams choose their own strategy for who does what, in what order, to complete as many consecutive Legs as possible in 12 hours.

We are hoping to raise £1000 between the three of us. Please donate what you can and come and support us on the day.

Many thanks, team MDT
