Story
To mark 30 years of the Maggie’s charity, we will be walking 30 Km’s (c.18.5 miles) on Sunday 29th March 2026 to raise money for Maggie’s in Northampton.
Maggie’s is a national charity that offers support to people with cancer and their loved ones from centres across the UK.
In October 2025, the Maggie’s Northampton centre opened on the edge of Northampton General Hospital. It provides a warm and welcoming space for anyone affected by cancer. Alongside this, they offer support from cancer support specialists, advice around benefits and employment while living with cancer, wellbeing activities, and peer support.
The centre is open five days a week, appointments are not necessary, and anyone who needs support is welcome to drop in during our opening hours. Many patients visit between treatment sessions, as they find the environment more relaxing and comfortable than the amenities available within the hospital.
£20 will give one hour of support to an individual from a Maggie’s Cancer Support Specialist, £25 will give one hour of support to an individual from a specially trained benefits advisor and £50 will give a session of support from a psychologist.
Any and all help that you can give is much appreciated and will help Maggie’s continue to be there to support people with cancer and their loved ones.
