We're raising money for LUPUS UK by going on The KiltWalk's Mighty Stride this September in sunny Edinburgh, a 21 mile walk around the city.

"LUPUS UK is the only national registered charity supporting people with systemic lupus and discoid lupus and assisting those approaching diagnosis. We presently have over 5500 Members and a number of Regional Groups around the UK who arrange medical talks, publish local newsletters, set up local occasions and organise fundraising events."

Sarah (our team captain) was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and other associated autoimmune conditions in January 2019 after suffering with a range of symptoms for a number of years from chronic fatigue, dizziness, migraines, aching joints, blood clots and a TIA in September of 2018, to name but a few. While the diagnosis came as a relief, and provided answers to symptoms, the condition was something she'd only ever heard of on medical dramas like House where its almost always "not Lupus". Navigating her new reality was difficult and not knowing anything about the condition was daunting to say the least. LUPUS UK became a steadfast resource, with information and support to help her better understand her condition and the implications that it would have on her life moving forward.
