Story

we are running the 2026 TCS London Marathon for Brain Research UK!

We had the pleasure of running 2025 for them and are delighted to be able to run for them again & hopefully raise lots more funds.

As those of you who know us you will know how personal this is to us, if you dont please read on.

We have decided to run London Marathon in 2026for a charity very close to our hearts The Brain Research Uk . Most of our family & friends will already know why we feel this charity is so important. If you dont this is a brief explanation of our personal stories.

When Tilly was a teenager she suffered two subarachnoid hemorrhages from horse riding falls, she spent time in Frenchay Hospital where she received first class care and the support I recieved as a parent was 100%.

After leaving hospital we continued to have support from The Childrens Brain Trust who helped us understand the changes in Tilly, for example not being able to cope with school, crowds, loud noises, having seziures.

Tilly was finally discharged from Neurology outpatients in 2020 , she still has some difficulties but lives a full and happy life.

Previously to this her dad had menengitis which resulted in him very nearly dying, he had to learn basically everything again & for a long time did not know who any of his family were. He has since made a good recovery but still suffers with his memory.

So we as family understand how important it is to continue research into brain injuries, this is why we are raising money for this great charity.

Any donations hower small or BIG !!!! will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading

Tilly & Paula

Brain Research UK is the UKs leading national funder dedicated to research into neurological conditions. The charity fund vital research to increase understanding, improve diagnosis and treatment, and work towards the prevention of neurological conditions, to help people who suffer with them live better, longer.

Their funding is currently focused on three priority research areas: Brain Tumours, Brain and Spinal Cord Injury, and Headache and Facial Pain. These are areas where there is a large unmet patient need that is not reflected in current funding levels. By concentrating their efforts on these three areas, our support can have a more significant impact.

Help me to make a difference - your support means that Brain Research UK can continue to fund life-changing research so that people living with neurological conditions can live better, longer.
