We will be walking the Kiltwalk in memory of our amazing friend Claire Lowe aka Tiny Dancer

From a young age Claire suffered from breathing difficulties and spent a lot of her young life in and out of hospital. She was eventually diagnosed with Obliterative Bronchiolitis. As a result, in 1995, she was the recipient of a double lung transplant which transformed her life. Unfortunately she suffered from chronic rejection and received a second double lung transplant in 2002. These transplants gave Claire an additional 19 years of life and allowed her to live her life to the fullest…Claire was always up front and centre for all of our crazy adventures over the years..never missing out on an opportunity to love, laugh and create mischief. Claire was forever grateful to her donors and showed this gratitude by always facing life head on, making memories, competing the transplant games, getting her Biomedical Science degree, backpacking across America and marrying the love of her life to name a few. She was a fab dog mum to her two fur babies Pixie and Toby.

Claire sadly passed away in May 2015 surrounded by her friends and family. She was very loved and there isn’t a day goes by when we don’t think about her and miss her.

Claire received both double lung transplants at Freeman Hospital and we will be eternally grateful to the medical team who cared for Claire over the years. This year we will be raising money for Freeman Heart and Lung Association. Anyone who has received a transplant or cares about someone who has will know the tireless and amazing work Freeman do.
