The Midland Sinfonia (TMS) team fundraising for Education & Outreach Programme

Raising money for The Midland Sinfonia (TMS)

TMS is an ensemble who's aim is to make live music accessible to all in the community. Alongside evening concerts, we have an Education & Outreach Programme giving those who find it difficult to access music in the traditional concert setting, the opportunity to experience the joy of live music.

Story

Shulah Oliver-Smith (Artistic Director of TMS) and a team of TMS players & partners will be running the Worcester City Half Marathon in 2025 in aid of the TMS Education & Outreach Programme.

TMS is committed to making live music accessible to all in the community.

Making live music accessible to all in the community...

Outreach Visits to settings such as Care Homes, Dementia Cafes, and Day Centres, & Open Rehearsal Opportunities, enable those in the community, who may find it difficult to access live music in the traditional concert setting, to experience the joy of listening to and engaging in live music

…As you know Dad absolutely adored listening to your music during the rehearsals and whenever I played the snippet on my phone of you all playing ‘What a wonderful world’, despite having Alzheimer's he would light up and engage… He absolutely came to life.”'...

Encouraging the next generation...

Our Education Projects provide a range of opportunities for children & young people to interact with, and learn about music as well as develop enjoyment & interest in music making. Projects include:

School Workshops

Young Musicians' Showcases

Family Friendly Concert

Side by Side performances

...a huge thank you to you, and the other members of the orchestra, for the wonderful day you provided for us of performances/workshops. The children, and staff absolutely loved it!"
