Tolley Team fundraising for Duchenne UK

Raising money for Duchenne UK

As the leading Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) charity in the UK, we want to find effective treatments for DMD and end its devastating impact. We’re going further than anyone has before, and we’re doing it faster, because this generation of people living with DMD can’t wait.

Story

The team at Tolley are proud to support and fundraise for Duchenne UK

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a rare, progressive, genetic condition that causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken, including the heart and lungs. DMD predominantly affects boys and is generally diagnosed between the ages of 3 and 6 years. There is currently no cure for DMD.

Duchenne UK is the leading DMD charity in the UK and has one clear aim - to #EndDuchenne.

Our story

Tolley Ltd. are a bespoke HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research) consultancy providing support to pharmaceutical journeys as they navigate the HTA (Health Technology Assessment) journey for their innovative treatments spanning a range of therapeutic areas from oncology through to rare diseases.

Tolley have been involved with Project HERCULES, a ground breaking multinational collaboration set up by Duchenne UK to develop tools and evidence to support Health Technology Assessments and reimbursement decisions for new treatments for DMD. It brings together patient organisations, clinicians, academics, leading pharmaceutical companies, HTA agencies and other advisers to build a better evidence base for DMD.

During the summer of 2025, members of the Tolley team will be undertaking a variety of fundraising activities to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause. These activities include:

1. Co founder, Keith Tolley, taking on the 100 km Lake District Ultra Challenge between the 7th and 8th of June 2025. Keith will walk the 100km as a march in less than 24 hours.

2. Co founders Keith Tolley and Mandy Strickson, along with their two daughters, will walk/ jog the 52 km loop of the Peak District Ultra Challenge, taking place on the 28th June 2025

3. HTA Consultant, Lauren Faulkner, will be undertaking two events this summer: The ultimate ultra trail endurance race where the challenge is to ascend and descend Mt. Snowdon as many times as possible in 24 hours between the 12th and 13th of July 2025; and The Ring O' Fire, a non-stop 130-mile endurance race around the stunning Isle of Anglesey between the 29th and 31st August 2025.

4. Co founder Mandy Strickson, and Head of Health Economics, Tom, Snell, will lead a 24-hour sponsored row, spin, ski, climb, and run in partnership with their local gym, New Bodies, in Buxton, on the 25th and 26th July 2025.

5. Principal HTA Consultant, Jo Noble-Longster, will be using her creative skills. There are around 2,500 people living with DMD in the UK, so throughout June, Jo will be handmaking bespoke jewellery from 2,500 beads - one for each person living with DMD in the UK.

6. Project Manager, Emma Lomas, and Office Manager, Marie Hutchinson, will scour their lofts and those of the other Tolley team, for unwanted quality items, to hold a car-boot sale on Sunday 8th June in Hope Valley.

Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated to support DMD patients and their carers through Duchenne UK. Visit https://www.duchenneuk.org/ to learn more.
