Refuge services:
Refuges National Domestic Abuse Helpline supported people 43,153 times in 2024/25 via phone, Live Chat and our BSL and translation services.
50% of those supported through our local services were dependent children.
We provide life-saving accommodation in 319 units within 65 refuges across 19 local authorities. (in 2024/2025)
Illustrative costs (please use could and not would):
£15 could give a woman arriving at a refuge the essentials she needs for her first night.
£45 could buy a cot and mattress protector for a baby in a refuge.
£80 could provide expert support to a survivor in her own language including via BSL
£275 could fund the running of the Helpline for an hour, providing life-saving information to women who wish to flee.
£350 could fund a volunteer to take part in a 2 week Helpline induction training
£700 could run a refuge service for one day
£10,000 could help 5 survivors with a deposit and one months rent for a safe, permanent home
