Hello, Tony O’Connell here, volunteer with Bradford Baby Bank and The Anchor Project, two grass-roots charities I started with during lockdown, inspired by their positive non-judgemental approach and swift direct response. They share a focus of helping people in need – and this need is growing every day. My volunteering helped me in those strange times of the pandemic, and I want to give back by raising money so they can continue and develop their work.

In September 2026, I’m going to cycle from London to Paris – 311 miles in 4 days – an average of 78 miles per day. For for a 72 yr old who only started road cycling last year, it’s a challenge. As is the 10,000 ft of ascent, 4,000 of it on day one! But Yorkshire’s the ideal place to train because you’re never too far from a hill… So I need help. And this is where you come in.
