Story

Mumbles Triathlon Relay Team!

Jenny Davies, Catherine Goss and myself are completing Mumbles Triathlon as a relay team in aid of South West Wales Motor Neuron Disease fund (YK63) which is part of Swansea Bay Health Charity.

This fund provides proactive care and support to help manage the physical, psychological and emotional challenges that comes with the diagnosis. They run monthly clinics where patients can see all the healthcare professionals they need all in one place.

From the money raised, they can purchase aids for independent and daily living, resources for health and wellbeing, information and support days and allow the team to research new projects to promote living well with MND.

After losing both my mum and grandmother to this cruel disease, I hope any amount we raise will help the team to continue the amazing work they do for patients in Swansea Bay University Health Board.

About the Charity................

We are Swansea Bay Health Charity, the official charity of Swansea Bay University Health Board. We support patients, staff and services within Swansea Bay University Health Board, managing around 265 funds for equipment, research, training and patient care. We don't replace NHS funding but use the generous donations received from patients, their families, staff and local communities to provide above and beyond what the NHS can provide.

From generous donations, we have purchased more comfortable chemotherapy chairs for our patients, funded wellbeing days for our staff to take some time for themselves, therapy pets for our dementia patients and toiletries, nightwear and slippers for patients who are admitted to hospital unexpectedly and don't have family to bring supplies that they need for their stay.
