Story
As some of you may know, Emily underwent 6 months of chemo last year to try to treat a rare histiocytic disease. The treatment was at UCLH Cancer Hospital and as gruelling as it was, she wouldn’t have made it through it without the exceptional care of the doctors, nurses and support staff at the hospital.
Now that Emily has recovered from the chemo, 5 of us (including Emily) want to give back to the hospital so are planning to complete the 50k Peak District Ultra Challenge, which is a 50km circular route in the peaks including 900m elevation, starting and ending in Bakewell.
This is such an important and worthy cause and is very close to our hearts, so thank you so much for any donations!
Over 14,000 people every year are treated for cancer at University College Hospital, and this number is rising.
University College Hospital aims to ensure that all people with cancer, and their families and carers receive a world-class service from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. To achieve this aim and to support their patients, they have created the UCLH Charity Cancer Fund which assists with important areas of work above and beyond what the NHS is able to provide.
