Story
Since 1989, future PTs and PTAs have raised more than $5 million for physical therapy research.
This fundraising campaign is part of the Marquette Challenge which is a grassroots, student-led fundraising effort that supports the mission of the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. Each year, hundreds of physical therapist (PT) and physical therapist assistant (PTA) students, with the support of their program directors and community, hold fundraising events across the United States. These fundraisers make Foundation grants, scholarships, and fellowships possible.
The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research's sole purpose is to fund physical therapy research through grants, scholarships, and fellowships. Through these investments, researchers go on to yield exceptional research that helps us to learn more about the efficacy of physical therapy practices, pioneer breakthrough treatments, and build the evidence-base to define the value of physical therapy among payers, other health care professions, and patients. We create a pipeline for future researchers and sow the seeds for new research to come.
