Raising money for Wales Air Ambulance Charitable Trust

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

Story

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.

A group of avid ramblers 😂, we’ve joined together to take on the challenge of the National 3 Peaks, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.

In the process we‘re hoping to raise some important funds for the Wales Air Ambulance so they can continue to provide the vital and life changing service that they deliver.

Thanks

Tom and the team 💪🏼

Back in February 2018 our lives changed for the better with the birth of our first son, Oliver, albeit 3 months earlier than expected!

While away with work in Bangor my wife went into spontaneous labour and gave birth in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, and later transferred to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, where we spent 2 weeks in the NICU.

While the care and support we received there was second to none, it became increasingly difficult to be so far away from home and our families and friends. That’s where the Wales Air Ambulance came to the rescue!

Oliver was transferred down to the NICU in UHW Cardiff by helicopter, with Francesca sending him off and myself in Cardiff waiting to greet him. As you can imagine this was a worrying time and we are immensely grateful, not only for the care Oliver received on the journey, but also the reassurance and support given to Fran and I, by both the doctors and staff of the Wales Air Ambulance.

Hopefully this will go a small way to help them continue the amazing work that they do for all of us in Wales.

Thanks,

Tom
