UBISOC - EAST AFRICA APPEAL

This year at UBISOC, we’re going to work incredibly hard and put time, effort and resources into making a difference in the lives of underprivileged communities worldwide.

We’re fundraising for Mercy Relief’s Charity Week campaign which will be focused on raising funds for East-Africa. Sadly, in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia, millions are fighting drought, battling hunger and on the brink of famine.

By raising money for this vital cause, you will reap rewards for relieving the distress of our brothers and sisters and saving lives.

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection.”

If you’re a talented baker, why not bake cakes and desserts to help you raise funds? What about challenging yourself to a long cycle, run, swim or walk? You’d be surprised at how many would support you in your endeavour. You can also organise a coffee morning, hold an auction, a car wash, a sports tournament, a fundraising dinner, a comedy night, a talent show or even a community BBQ. The list is endless.

EAST AFRICA OVERVIEW

The situation in East-Africa right now is unimaginably devastating as many countries face the worst drought in more than 40 years. Across Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia, many families are sadly dying of hunger and thirst, whilst others walk hundreds of miles a week just to access life’s basic necessities - food and clean drinking water. The latter are considered the lucky few, as millions of others have little or no access and must fight for survival every single day.

MONTHLY EMERGENCY AID PACK

£60 can support a family of up to seven people with a nutritious food parcel and clean drinking water which can last up to 1 month.

Mercy Relief are providing lifesaving food packs and clean drinking water to the destitute people in East Africa who without support, could sadly perish. We need your help to save lives.
