Story
Vicky was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year aged 40 after an early detection of a lump that she acted on quickly. She underwent surgery and two weeks of Radiotherapy and will continue on hormone therapy for five years. Vicky is pleased to say that she is Cancer free and feels incredibly lucky to be in this position, as she knows that her story could have ended very differently if she hadn’t detected it early. Since then Vicky has been determined to share her story as she wants to show just how important regular chest checks are, and how truly life-saving early detection of breast cancer can be.
The charity CoppaFeel! are on a mission to educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves. They do this because when diagnosed early and accurately, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection truly can save lives. After Vicky's own breast cancer diagnosis, running a half marathon felt like a meaningful way to give back and to help make a difference for others. Vicky even managed to persuade Kerry to run it with her! 🏃♀️🏃♀️ Together, they are not only determined to reach their fundraising goal for this incredible charity, but they are also on a mission to get as many people as possible checking their chests.
Early detection saves lives.
