Vish and Jim fight cancer (and evil) in a 24-hr BG3 marathon

Raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

The stream will be here www.twitch.tv/golbez3293 on the day. Also Whatsapp me if you want to join in for a bit, there'll be space in the party

Both Vish and I’s families have been deeply affected by cancer: both of us having had friends & family members suffer through to remission, or having lost them along the way. Charities like MacMillan do an amazing job of helping families through such difficult times. The support, counsel and friendship they provide is priceless… but it’s not free, and that’s why we’re fundraising.

Vish and I have resolved to fundraise for MacMillan with a challenge demanding incredible endurance, focus and tenacity...

Are we going to run an ultramarathon? No.

How about swimming the English Channel? Not that either.

What about trying to beat the record for the world’s largest homemade sausage roll? We wish, but there’s not enough pastry in Swindon.

Being consummate nerds, Vish and I are committing to a 24-hour, streamed, video gaming marathon. Starting at 9:30am on Saturday 16th November, and finishing at 9:30am on Sunday 17th November, we’re going to start a new “Tactician difficulty” game of Baldur’s Gate 3, with the aim of defeating Ketheric Thorm at the end of act 2 within the time limit. For context, it took me near 37 hours to do this first time around, so we’re up against the clock!!

No doubt achieving such a herculean task will require every once of cunning, every mote of determination and every drop of Relentless I have in the fridge.

So, wish us luck, and please spare a gold piece or two to support a good cause.
