Raising money for Victoria Sexual Assault Centre

Triathlon of Compassion · 21 June 2026 ·

The Victoria Sexual Assault Centre is a feminist organization committed to ending sexualized violence through healing, education, and prevention. We are dedicated to supporting women and all Trans survivors of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse, through advocacy, counselling, and empowerment.

Story

We are Purpose in Motion, a triathlon team racing to support the vital work of the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre and the survivors they serve.

Victoria Sexual Assault Centre provides trauma-informed sexual assault support services and prevention education, completely free of charge. Their programs include a 24-hour Clinic offering emergency medical care for recent survivors, crisis counselling, criminal justice support, and violence prevention initiatives. These services exist because immediate, compassionate care makes a real difference in a survivor's healing journey. They rely on community fundraising to keep every one of these programs running.

Our team came together because we believe this cause calls us to move and raise awareness for what the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre does in the community.

Swimming for our team is Sara, who is a board member that sees community events like this as a meaningful way to take responsibility for the change we want to see. Ending sexualized violence is a cause that deserves our presence and our energy.

Our cyclist, Christina, works directly alongside recent survivors of sexual assault. They race to raise awareness for the reality of sexualized violence in our communities, because the more visible it becomes, the better equipped we all are to prevent it and support those affected. Supporting a survivor is not one person's job. It is something we build together through how we value autonomy, consent, and care in our everyday relationships.

Mariana, running for our team, also a member of the board, races because turning toward each other in difficult times is one of the most powerful things we can do. This event is a way to contribute something positive and active, as a community.

Every dollar raised goes directly toward keeping the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre’s services free and accessible to survivors and the community. Please consider donating and sharing our page. Your support helps sustain programs that people count on when they need them most.
