Story
*** Team of women walk 6737 miles for elephant conservation ***
In 2019, 14 women signed up to a special expedition run jointly by Cathadventure and Love Her Wild, to spend 10 days in November 2020 tracking and collecting conservation data on desert elephants in Namibia. Working closely with the EHRA team they would monitor movement and health of the herds and their financial support would help EHRA in their mission to build practical solutions to improve elephant-human relations.
The expedition was postponed, so instead the London (Heathrow) to Namibia (Swakopmund) walking challenge was born. Starting on the 30th November 2020 and continuing until the 15th November, the team had 350 days to walk 6737 miles (10,842 km) between them. Virtually travelling through France and Spain and into Northern Africa, virtually experiencing countries such as Algeria, Nigeria, Gabon, Angola and of course Namibia itself.
AND WE DID IT!!!!!
It took approximately 2133 hours of walking to complete this challenge, an incredible commitment from the team over the past year.
Now it's time to raise some money!
We aimed to raise £6737 – that’s £1 per mile and so far we have raised around £2000
Help us raise the remaining £4737
