Story

Inspired by the incredible feats of legends like Ashley Cain, Russ Cook, Jake Dearden, and others, I’ve set myself a meaningful challenge. While I may not be tackling the world's longest runs like them, I’ve discovered my strength lies in walking for hours on end. Although I’ve always enjoyed walking, aside from participating in the 100km Trail-walker, I haven’t been involved in any specific events.

Over the past year, I’ve focused intensely on reclaiming my health, both physically and mentally. After falling behind in this aspect of my life, I dedicated myself to getting back in shape, losing 7 1/2 stone in just 10 months. This transformation not only revitalised my body but also restored a sense of happiness and confidence that I had lost during bouts of depression.

Amidst various challenges, I sought something more personal than the competitive arenas. So, I’ve committed to walking from Lands End to John O’Groats, spanning the UK from its southernmost to its northernmost point. Instead of following a pre-established route, I’ve charted my own course, passing through the nation’s stunning national parks and areas of natural beauty, with a climb up Ben Nevis for good measure.

This journey is about more than personal achievement; it’s about giving back. I’ve chosen to undertake this challenge for two charities, supporting causes that are close to my heart. If I manage to reach my fundraising goal before reaching John O’Groats, I’ll turn around and walk back. This adventure is not about personal gain but about making a tangible difference in the lives of others.
