Story

Our dear friend Stefan Bishop story -

Living Fully, Giving Freely

Dear friends, Stef family members and kind-hearted souls,

Life has a way of changing in an instant. For Stef it started with a strange unsteadiness while walking in October 2024. Shortly afterwards the sense that something was wrong became impossible to ignore and this is where his medical critical illness journey began. By February, after countless neurology appointments, blood tests, MRI and PET-CT scans showing multiple brain and spinal lesions, Stef received the first diagnosis: Tumefactive Multiple Sclerosis. That alone was life-altering. Forward wind a few months, after even more tests and eventually brain surgery in May, Stef was given a second diagnosis: high-grade glioma – an aggressive, stage 4 terminal brain cancer, with a prognosis of 12 to 18 months.

Stef went to school in Eastbourne, first at St Bedes and then at Eastbourne College.

We are organising a walk to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, to celebrate Brain Tumour Month.

On the 28th March we will walk 40 miles across the South Downs Way from Eastbourne to Worthing where Stef now lives.

Every step taken and every pound raised will help move The Brain Tumour Charity further and faster as they tackle brain tumours on three vital fronts – funding pioneering research, providing life-changing support and campaigning for urgently-needed change.

Many thanks for your support
