Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey and West Byfleet Golf Club Charity of the Year Partnership 2026

We are delighted to be partnering with West Byfleet Golf Club as their chosen charity for 2026. The charity was founded in 1922 when we first started assisting blind and partially sighted soldiers returning from war and we have continued to help people in Surrey who are Deaf, or have a sight or hearing impairment ever since. People are at the heart of everything we do. We champion independence, where people thrive in their communities and achieve their aspirations. We offer expert support, services, and advice across Surrey, delivering our services to over 8,500 people in homes, communities, and from our main office hub.

People who are Deaf, or have a sight or hearing impairment, can unfortunately become incredibly isolated but our specialist teams of qualified and skilled professionals support each individual by arming them with the knowledge, equipment and confidence to live and work fulfilling and independent lives.

One of our recent local projects is the launch of our Community Hubs, like our New Haw Meet Up Catch Up, which offer a safe space for those with sensory loss to connect and share experiences. As James, a local service user and attendee of our Meet Up Catch Ups, shared:

“It was a dark day I found out about my vision loss but with the support of Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey and other organisations I have turned my life around”

From essential equipment to emotional and social support, our services are a lifeline to children and adults with sensory loss across Surrey.
