Me and team of friends have decided to enter Weston Beach Race and raise money for charity's close to our hearts. Myself, Tom Bushby Dean Skerratt Tj Redsull
We're raising money for autism family support Oxfordshire-AFSO and pancreatic cancer research UK.
Last year we lost someone very close to us as a family, my uncle John Hodgkins aka "Chunk"
Him and his family, Mandy Hodgkins Dean Hodgkins Craig Hodgkins Lydia Hodgkins lived and breathed for weston super mare beach race. They were the guys who introduced me into motocross so many years ago, they gave me their hand me downs of helmets and boots and let me ride there bikes and quads just so I could be involved in the insanity and adrenaline of off road racing. I will forever be in debt to my uncle john and his sons craig and Dean for introducing me to the sport, lending me kit, and bikes! Teaching me how to ride. Selling me my first bikes.. and eventually getting me to do weston with them! I'll never forget my first race coming into the pits after my first lap absolutely buggered from the sheer insanity I'd just been involved in, for John to say, " wtf are you doing in here?! Get back out there! Your not done yet!" Those words will stick with me forever, and it brings tears to my eyes to right this. You were a legend to everyone you knew. Thankyou for everything chunk.
And that is why I'd like to raise money to fight the horrible thing that took him away from us, Pancreatic cancer, any donations would be hugely appreciated no matter how small. Thankyou for time if you've read this and I hope to see you there! 🏁💙🏁💙🏁
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case.
Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
