Story
This October, Michael, George, Stewart and Ciaran will be walking 400 miles to raise money for Breast Cancer Now
A woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes. And around 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.
In September 2023, Michael's wife Elaine (Erchie) was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout her treatment, she underwent multiple scans—including CT and MRI—which failed to detect a diseased lymph node in her internal central mammary chain. It was only during her fourth UNPLANNED surgery that her amazing plastic surgeon identified and removed the affected node, a discovery that significantly altered her treatment and prognosis.
Elaine’s case highlights a critical issue: standard imaging techniques do not always reveal the full extent of disease. This underscores the need for improved diagnostic tools and continued investment in research—not only for treatment, but for earlier and more accurate detection of both primary and secondary breast cancer. The ultimate goal being a CURE for ALL breast cancer diagnosis.
Please donate if you can to support the research and or share to raise awareness. Let’s improve outcomes for everyone.
Every little bit helps, thank you for your support 💗
