Walk For The Wounded is taking our challenge to new length’s this year. Stepping away from our 42 km weighted marathon walk, to a backyard fixed time ultra marathon event. This October 24th & 25th, participants will challenge themselves, and each other, to see how far each will go in 24 hours. The event will be done on a fixed 5 km loop, while still wearing a 20 lb vest. Each time they pass the start line, participants must pay a debt of 22 push-ups to begin the next lap. Symbolizing the 22 veterans a day that kill themselves in North America.

This is an inaugural format event, and will have participants joining remotely from Canadian Forces Bases across Canada. Registration is closed for this year, but we welcome others to join us in the walk in 2027. Until then, follow along our socials to stay informed, and cheer them on.

The mission of WFTW is to help get those struggling the assistance and support they deserve. By creating an event that puts mental health at the forefront, it is our mission to reduce the number of those who struggle in silence.

Founded in 2020 by active and retired Canadian Armed Forces members, Walk For The Wounded has had the privilege of welcoming teams and individuals from all emergency services and branches of the military, as well as family members. We have maintained this exclusivity to provide a setting for individuals to feel comfortable sharing their stories with peers free of judgement. It is our vision that our events can help encourage these conversations to continue after the kilometres are walked.
