Story
Helen first moved into Whitegates View in 2014. She had Young Parkinsons which means she had a learning and a physical disability. However this did no stop her from living life to the fullest. She was quite adventurous and loved to watch or participate.
WIth the support of staff at Whitegates, Family and Medical professionals Helen set herself many goals. One of which was to walk, and with the correct support she achieved this.
Another goal Helen set herself was to get to the top of the Spinnaker Tower. She had noticed it one day looking out of the window from her hospital bed and despite not feeling well she was determined. Unfortunatly she never got the chance. And this is why we are doing the abseil in her memory.
The money raised will go towards building a memorial garden in Helens favourite spot in the garden at Whitegates View. The space will include water features, sensory lighting and planting and sensory garden ornaments.
With your support, we will continue to embrace new ideas and challenge ourselves to make sure we get the very best for the people we support, giving them choice, independence and happiness.
