Story
This year, myself and my brother Rob are running Manchester marathon on the 27th April in aid of the MND Association and as always, for our dad- who believe it or not also ran a marathon or two back in the day!
We’re lacing up our shoes and tackling the training head on, and we could do with some support. MND is currently incurable and it affects the way you walk, talk, eat and breathe. We hope with any donations that the money can help the progression towards finding a cure.
It’s the cruelest disease I’ve ever known, but our dad battled on so heroically (with a few cursed words thrown in for good measure). Without the support of the MND Association, those living with MND may not have access to the equipment so vitally needed.
- £280 could fund the coordination of care for someone with MND at a Care Centre for a year
- £500 could provide a tablet device with specialist communication software, allowing someone to communicate with loved ones
I know there will be blood, sweat and tears during this mammoth run so any donation would be so greatly appreciated!
We’ll be toasting to our dad at the finish line, with a beer or two!
Finally, if one marathon isn’t bad enough, I (Jenn) will also be running Edinburgh on the 25th May. Any extra donations might spur me on to cross that finish line.
