Raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society

Great North Run 2024 · 8 September 2024 ·

In 2024 we hope to have over 300 MS Superstar runners take to the streets of Newcastle to raise funds and awareness for the MS Society and to help stop MS. This is their team page.

Story

We're running the Great North Run for our dad, who always keeps a smile on his face no matter how he's feeling.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable condition that affects your brain and spinal cord. In MS, the coating that protects your nerves (myelin) is damaged. This causes a range of symptoms like blurred vision and problems with how we move, think and feel.

More than 130,000 people in the UK have MS. Once diagnosed, MS stays with you for life, but treatments and specialists can help you to manage the condition and its symptoms.

The MS Society is here to help everyone live well with MS.

Every year they reach thousands of people with help and support through their MS Helpline and local groups. They campaign on the issues that matter most to the MS community. And they invest in ground-breaking research to stop MS in its tracks.

Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.
