My name is Will and I am 9 years old. I love the mountains and camping.

Whilst wild camping overnight last April at Sprinkling Tarn on my 2nd attempt of Scafell Pike (weathered 1st attempt), I became seriously ill.

Vomiting from 4am, I attempted to descend the mountain once it was daylight. In temperatures of -1c and strong winds, having not been able to eat anything or hold down any fluids for over 4hrs, I realised I was going to need help.

I want to show my appreciation to Great North Air Ambulance and Keswick Mountain Rescue who came to help me.

This year before my 10th birthday, I am going to climb the 3 Peaks - Scafell Pike (978m), Yr Wyddfa/Snowden (1085m) and Ben Nevis (1345m), with all my kit for a night on the hills (7kg) to raise money for these amazing charities.

UPDATE: 1 down, 2 to go. (01/05/23) Last weekend I successfully summited Yr Wyddfa/Mt Snowdon 1085m with all my gear and wild camped before the mornings trek back down.

UPDATE: Peak No2 completed 24/25 July 👍3rd time lucky. Perfect weather for wild camp. Enjoyed a tour of Keswick Mtn Rescue base today. Ben Nevis next week.
